A Gardenista's Wardrobe

I love gardening, but hate the old tattered clothes I used to wear to prevent my good clothes from getting damaged or soiled. Having to get into those old clothes made me weary of gardening. But overtime, I realized that while gardening does require working outdoors, it doesn't mean having to get dirty. In fact, working among the flowers and plants in the sunshine and fresh air is more akin to getting into harmony with nature. I wanted to enjoy my time in the garden, so I tossed my old tattered clothes and replaced them with a more stylish, but practical, gardening wardrobe. I prefer to wear loose clothing that keep me covered and protected from the sun.  But, if I am just pruning or cutting flowers and it is a warm sunny day,  I love to wear long summer dresses.  And to save money, I try to purchase gardening clothes from thrift stores.

Here is a list of some essential clothes and accessories from my gardening wardrobe.

  • Loose pants
  • Long sleeve shirts
  • Long sun dresses
  • Gardening shoes (clogs, rain boots, old sneakers)
  • Gardening apron
  • Hats
  • Sunglasses
Happy gardening! 🌻
