On March 12, 2023, Hollywood will celebrate the 95th Academy Awards ceremony at the Dolby Theatre, which is across the street from the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel where the first ceremony was held on May 16,1929. During the past century, the Academy Awards have been presented at different venues in Los Angeles, such as the Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, the Pantages Theater in Hollywood, and the legendary Coconut Grove inside the long gone Ambassador Hotel that was on Wilshire Boulevard. As the annual ceremonies grew and became more dazzling, the venues became bigger too. Since 2002, the Academy Awards have been held at the Dolby Theatre, which was built to host the Academy Awards and to bring them back home to Hollywood where it all began in 1929.
