A Picnic in December
A Sunday picnic and drive along the California coast seemed like a perfect getaway from our busy holiday and work schedules. So, we got up early, packed a lunch for two, and planned a three-hour drive along the scenic California coastline.
Our vintage style picnic included the following items.
- A wicker picnic basket with plates, utensils, napkins and drinking cups
- Two homemade turkey & provolone cheese sandwiches
- Two slices of homemade cranberry tart
- Two slices of spinach pie
- A small jar of gingerbread cookies
- Two small jars filled with peanuts, walnuts and raisins.
- Vintage Coca Cola and Dr. Pepper soda bottles we purchased from a local market
- An outdoor picnic blanket
- An umbrella
- Jackets, sweaters, gloves and knit caps
- And finally an itinerary of our drive and picnic destination
Sometimes, a simple picnic with a short scenic drive is all you need to have a relaxing day!
